The Collective performed Rising Sons, their third show, this weekend. I saw it last night and they never cease to both amaze me and sort of confuse the hell out of me. But in a good way. Like in the way that I am forced to think way harder and in a different way than I’m used to. I would recommend everyone to go see them, but their last show starts in about half an hour. BUT! The next time they have something going on (be it a fund raiser, improv show, or main production), it is definitely something not to be missed. Here are a couple of production shots I did for them:
I also went to Eyedrum for the first time (unacceptable, I know) Friday night for Bang! Arts Management‘s company launch party/Eyedrum fundraiser. Bang! seems to have a similar goal to that of The Grass Being Greener’s. We both want increased exposure for local artists and musicians and are very community minded. It is run by Deisha Oliver, who I met briefly, but she was running around tending to her event and I didn’t want to take up too much of her time. We definitely will keep up with more of what they are doing because it is all positive and in the name of art! Here are a few pictures of some trapeze/aerialists and our friend Aaron Whitehouse from the event:
